Grand Island Police investigating attempted robbery near Super Saver

GRAND ISLAND — The Grand Island Police Department are investigating an attempted robbery near Super Saver. A man was arrested for obstructing a police officer related to the situation.

According to the Grand Island Police Department (GIPD), at 8:22 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, officers were dispatched to a weapons offense near Super Saver, 1602 W. 2nd St.

Two people reported that a suspect asked for money and then displayed a handgun.

Officers arrived on scene and a subject matching the description was observed fleeing the area on a bicycle. The GIPD would canvas the area and locate the male attempting to hide on the porch of a residence.

The man, identified was Enrique Rivero Talon, was taken into custody for obstructing a police officer and transported to the Hall County Department of Corrections.

The reported attempted robbery remains under investigation by the GIPD.
