KVFD greet students at Kenwood Elementary during Fire Prevention Week, (Brian Neben, Central Nebraska Today)
KEARNEY — In recognition of Fire Prevention Month, the Kearney Volunteer Fire Department is bringing smiles and safety awareness to Kearney Public Schools.
Firefighters will be visiting local elementary schools to greet students with High Fives as part of a special initiative to promote fire safety awareness.
The High Five greetings are set to take place over three days, providing a fun and engaging way for students to interact with their local firefighters while learning the importance of fire safety.
The schedule for the High Five visits is as follows:
• Monday, October 7: Bryant Elementary, Buffalo Hills/Windy Hills Elementary, and Central Elementary.
• Tuesday, October 8: Emerson Elementary, Glenwood Elementary, and Kenwood Elementary.
• Wednesday, October 9: Meadowlark Elementary, Northeast Elementary, and Park Elementary.
