DARR — An aircraft collision with powerlines near the Darr Interchange knocked out power in the area and closed down Interstate 80 during the early evening of Sept. 25.
According to the Dawson Public Power District, at 6:15 p.m., there was an aircraft collision with a powerline that affected around 1,000 meters in the Lexington area.
I-80 was closed in both directions from Darr to Lexington for roughly an hour to clear traffic from the area to facilitate the powerline repairs.
DPPD later said power was restored about 8:00 p.m.
