KEARNEY — The Merryman Performing Arts Center will kick off its highly anticipated 2024-2025 season on October 17, 2024, with a sold-out performance of “I Am…He Said. Celebrating the Music of Neil Diamond.”

This national touring production pays tribute to the legendary singer-songwriter Neil Diamond, and it will feature special appearances by local talent, including Nathan LeFeber, Band Director at Kearney High School (KHS), and Dr. Tim Farrell from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Additionally, an ensemble of 60 KHS choir students under the direction of KHS Choral Director Clayton Moyer will join the performers for an unforgettable finale. These talented students will showcase their vocal prowess in front of a full house.

Nathan LeFeber, Band Director at KHS, expressed his excitement about the collaboration: “It’s an incredible opportunity for our students and our community to be part of something like this in our community. Performing alongside professional musicians in a show like this will be an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.”

Clayton Moyer, KHS Choral Director, echoed LeFeber’s sentiments: “Having 60 of our students on stage for the finale of this amazing concert is a testament to the talent and dedication of our choir. We’re thrilled to be part of such a celebrated production and I know our students are eager to shine.
