KEARNEY — An overturned semi-trailer brought westbound traffic to a halt on Interstate 80 east of Kearney during the morning hours of Thursday, Sept. 26.
Around 7:15 p.m., the Kearney Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to an accident site near mile marker 282.
On site, a semi-trailer had overturned and was blocking a portion of the westbound lane, the trailer had broken open, with a cargo of boxes spilling out onto the roadway and into the median.
Traffic came to a standstill approaching the accident site, with Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office deputies and troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol slowing approaching traffic.
The number of those involved in the incident and any possible injuries were not available on scene.
Agencies assisting at the scene included the KVFD, Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol and Gibbon Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
