HASTINGS — The Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce and the Veterans Committee are proud to announce the distinguished Parade Marshals for the 2024 Veterans Recognition Parade. This year, we honor four exceptional veterans for their dedication and service:

  • Edward Buss (Air Force)
  • Ernest Johnson (Army)
  • Rick Herrington (Marines)
  • Greg Powell (Navy)

These esteemed individuals will be celebrated at the Veterans Recognition Dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, at the Hastings Masonic Temple, starting at 6 p.m. The dinner is free for all veterans and one guest thanks to a generous donation from Livingston Bulter Volland Funeral Home.

Community members are encouraged to attend for a cost of $15 per person. The Veterans Recognition Parade will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024. All veterans are encouraged to participate by walking or riding in the parade.

Businesses and individuals are also invited to show their support by creating parade entries, which will be accepted until 9:30 AM on the day of the parade. *Please note that no political campaigns are allowed in the parade or as sponsors.

This celebration is a heartfelt tribute to those who have served our nation, uniting the community in appreciation of our veterans. This year marks the 19th Annual Veterans Recognition Dinner and Parade, a cherished tradition honoring the sacrifices of our nation’s heroes.
