KHS host site of NSBA state marching contest

KEARNEY — We would like to extend an invitation to you for a very special event in Kearney on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024

The Nebraska State Bandmasters Association (NSBA) state marching contest is being held on that date throughout our state at sites in Lincoln, Omaha, and Kearney. Nebraska’s amazing band students will be showing off their hard work from the 2024 marching band season.

Kearney High School has been chosen to be the west site of the state competition since 2017. Over 6,500 spectators and band students on average have attended in years past, and we anticipate strong attendance this year as well. We are so proud of the community of Kearney for successfully hosting such a highly regarded event and want you to experience it firsthand.

Admission is $11.63 for Adults, $8.48 for Students, Children five and under are FREE.
Credit card ONLY accepted for entry or purchase your ticket ahead of time.

Twenty-three schools are coming from all across the state. Here’s a schedule of events:

1:30 – 5:30 pm Class 1A-2A bands perform
5:45 pm Pit Crew Olympics
6:00 pm Class 1A-2A Awards
6:45 – 8:45 pm Class 3A–4A bands perform
9:00 pm Exhibition: UNK Pride of the Plains Marching Band
9:15 pm Pit Crew Olympics
9:30 pm Class 3A–5A Awards

Kearney Catholic will be performing at 1:30 pm. Kearney High is the last band to perform, stepping off at 8:45 pm. You can find more information on our website at Kearneybands.org/music-events or click HERE.
