KEARNEY — Horizon Middle School is proud to host “A Freedom Celebration” in honor of Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024.

The event is open to all veterans and community members who wish to join in a heartfelt celebration of freedom and service. A complimentary breakfast will be served at 7:30 AM, with the main program to follow at 8:30 AM in the Horizon gymnasium.

The program will feature performances from the Horizon choir and the 7th-grade band, along with special guest speakers—three Horizon Middle School and Kearney High School alumni who served together in Kuwait: Caleb Bean, Daniel Crocker, and Sam Johnson. Additionally, Horizon students Beckett Fiximer, Eloise Burda, Adrian Buckner, and Hadley Benner will share personal reflections on what Veterans Day means to them.

Stacy Bean, Horizon Middle School Band Director, and event coordinator, shared her enthusiasm for the celebration: “This event is a powerful opportunity for our students to express their gratitude to the veterans who have served our country. Through music and spoken word, we hope to create a memorable tribute to their bravery and sacrifices.”

All veterans and community members interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP by calling 308-698-8120.
