Hadenfeldt, 37, has been charged with first degree assault, Class 2 felony, strangulation, or suffocation resulting in serious bodily injury, a Class 2A felony and burglary, Class 2A felony.

Hadenfeldt was the subject of a search after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was located after a traffic accident near Alda in February 2024.

He has been held at the Nebraska Department of Corrections Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln since the traffic accident.

After requesting a continuance in September, Judge Ryan Carson set the final plea date/pre-trial hearing for Nov. 6 at 11 a.m.

On Wednesday, Feb. 14, the Kearney Police Department began investigating an assault that took place at a residence on L Avenue during the morning hours.

A 37-year-old Kearney woman sustained serious injuries as a result of the assault and was being treated at a local hospital, the Kearney Police Department said.

Just after 9 a.m., Kearney officers responded to a 911 call that a female was injured because of an assault and needed medical transport.

The officer’s investigation indicated that Hadenfeldt allegedly entered the home and assaulted the woman, leaving her unconscious with serious injuries.

An arrest warrant was issued for Hadenfeldt. It was noted officers were using all means at their disposal to locate him.
