GRAND ISLAND — Three grams of methamphetamine were located during a traffic stop in Grand Island during the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 19.
According to the Grand Island Police Department, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle near the intersection of Elm and Louis Streets.
A police dog was utilized and indicated that there was the odor of a controlled substance. A search of the vehicle revealed 3.68 grams of a white crystal substance that was consistent with methamphetamine.
The driver was identified as Layne Van Winkle and a digital scale was located in his pocket with drug residue on it.
Van Winkle was arrested for failure to signal, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
