KEARNEY — Two new officers were sworn into the Kearney Police Department during the meeting of the city council on Tuesday, Dec. 17.
Officers Jonah Gress and Samuel Steffen both recently graduated from the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Centers 218th basic training session.
Chief Bryan Waugh noted that Steffen in a native of Central City and had been working in agriculture before he made the decision to enter the law enforcement profession. Gress is a native of Beatrice.
Both took the oath of office before the council and crowd and their badges were pinned by family members and loved ones.
