Kearney Police Department releases “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” results

KEARNEY — The Kearney Police Department recently participated in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over law enforcement effort that was conducted nationwide from Dec. 11, 2024 through Jan. 1, 2025.

Kearney officers participated in 53 additional hours of enforcement and specifically focused on alcohol violations such as Minor in Possession, Open Container, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs, and Minor DUI.

During this campaign, officers made 15 Arrests (7 DUI-Alcohol and 1 Minor in Possession of Alcohol, and 1 open container of alcohol.)

Additionally, 3 reckless driving, 6 speeding citations were issued and 6 fugitives were apprehended. KPD Officers had a total of 516 contacts during the selective enforcement.

Kearney Police Department’s participation in the impaired driving enforcement is funded through a grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
