CENTRAL NEBRASKA — While the temperatures have plunged into the single digits, it has not stopped a variety of wildlife in south central Nebraska from being active.
Central Nebraska Today hit the road on Sunday, Jan. 19 and documented a number of species including juvenile and adult bald eagles at Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District’s J-2 Hydroplant, red-tailed hawks, and Common merganser and Canadian geese along the Platte River.
The surprise of the day was a female bobcat and her two kittens moving along the frozen Tri-County canal, likely looking for fish frozen in the ice.
