LEXINGTON — We do not ask for or possess information regarding the immigration status of our students. FERPA and local board policies define the disclosure of student records and physical access to students.
We remain committed to enforcing policies that ensure the safety and well-being of all LPS students while also complying with applicable laws. We have a comprehensive safety plan in place ready to be implemented should the need arise, and this plan has been communicated internally to key LPS personnel.
Additionally, all LPS staff have been trained in crisis response management and will be further informed as needed. We have also collaborated with local agencies that are equipped to provide accurate and efficient guidance and assistance to parents if or when necessary.
In collaboration with these agencies, we will continue to stay informed about the evolving landscape of immigration-related concerns and will communicate with all stakeholders as appropriate.
