NEBRASKA — After being closed at one point from North Platte to Lincoln, the Nebraska Department of Transportation was able to reopen Intestate 80 across the state overnight.
The NDOT reported at 2:30 a.m. on Thursday morning that I-80 was open in all directions.
Drivers were asked to drive with caution, buckle up and put the phone down, slow down and allow for increased follow distance and not to crowd any snowplows on the road, giving crews space to work.
Locally, a portion of Highway 30 is closed between Kearney and Shelton, and part of Highway 6 was closed from South Deman Ave. to Road Z.
Parts of eastern Nebraska harder hit by the snow, still have numerous highways closed as of Thursday morning.
