Suspect in Grand Island charged with willful reckless driving

GRAND ISLAND — A suspect was arrested in Grand Island for their fourth driving under the influence offense during the early morning hours of Friday, April 11.

According to the Grand Island Police Department, at 12:37 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Locust St. and Ashton Ave. and contacted a driver who was identified as Taryn Devault.

According to the officers, Devault showed signs of gross impairment during the traffic stop. An administrative records check showed Devault has three prior convictions for DUI in the last 15 years.

While searching Devault’s vehicle, officers found three open bottles of alcohol underneath the drivers and passenger’s seats.

Devault was arrested for DUI – fourth offense and possession of an open container.

Update on April 16, 2025:

Devault has been charged in Hall County Court with willful reckless driving – first offense, a Class 3 misdemeanor and possess an open alcohol container, an infraction. in the case.

A hearing has been set for May 19 at 2:30 a.m.
