The Nebraska Kearney women’s golf team shot a 325 and is tied for ninth place after the first day of the 2025 MIAA Championships at Meadowlark Hills G.C.
The 12-team, 36-hole event began Sunday morning with winds blowing at least 25 miles per hour all day. Action resumes Monday at 8:30 a.m. with strong winds again in the forecast.
No. 26 Rogers State (310) and No. 21 Central Missouri (311) currently are the top two teams with UCM’s Libby Green and Northwest Missouri’s Madilyne Schlaepfer both shooting a 1-over 72 to be tied for the individual lead.
Minnesota freshman Calie Dockter had four birdies on the front nine to pace the Lopers with a 6-over 77 (37-44). She is in seventh place with Colombian senior Juliana Botero Molina (82) the next Loper to come in. She had UNK’s only birdie on the back nine (par 4 16th hole) and is tied for 32nd place. Next, Arizona senior Sophia Coleman (40-43) and Kansas sophomore Liz Lyons (42-41) both shot an 83 and are tied for 39th with Kansas sophomore Claire Berquist (89; T-62nd) and Texas sophomore Sofia Wildeman (87; 56th) rounding out the lineup. Wildeman is playing as an individual with UNK having a par and five birdies on the par 5 6th hole.
