Comments from Kearney Girls Tennis coach Troy Saulsbury: Today was a great day for tennis and we played well in the nice weather. One area we need to continue to improve on is coming out stronger at the beginning of the match. We have shown that we are somewhat slow starters. Many of the games we gave up today were early in the match. Then we finish the match strong, winning multiple games in a row. I was impressed with Sarah Dahlke in singles today. She played a very consistent player and was able to move her around and hit shots with a lot of depth and pace to force her opponent into an error. Addy Sutton and Cecilia Shaffer came out very strong in doubles and were in control the entire match. They did a great job of hitting solid groundstrokes to set each other up at the net. After slow starts in singles, they both used their consistency and shot placement to win their matches comfortably.
