GRAND ISLAND — A suspect was arrested on multiple charges after an attack with a knife during the evening hours of Monday, April 21.
According to the Grand Island Police Department, at 9:25 p.m., officers responded to the area of 4th and Eddy St. in reference to an assault.
Officers located a 39-year-oldman behind a residence on W. 4th St. who was laying on the ground with injuries.
Another man was located in the area in a vehicle and was identified by his Nebraska identification as Abdalla Alnour.
Witnesses told officers that Alnour pulled a knife on the 39-year-old male, telling him that he wasn’t supposed to be at that location. The 39-year-old would throw a stick at Alnour that was lying nearby.
Alnour would then chase the 39-year-old, who fell in a backyard. Alnour pinned the man to the ground and attempted to stab them three times, cutting their left ring finger on the third attempt, per the GIPD.
The witness also advised they saw Alnour holding the knife to the other man’s neck.
Alnour would be arrested for second-degree assault, terroristic threats, attempt of a Class 2 felony and three counts of use of a deadly weapon.
