A plan in the works for over a decade finally saw fruition Thursday, when UNK officials had the groundbreaking for sand volleyball courts on campus.
The sand volleyball courts are at the former University Residence South site, located northwest of the College of Education building. Three courts are being constructed, with the potential for more recreational expansion in the future.
The $200,000 project is being built by UNK Facilities and is funded through contributions from UNK Student Government, the Office of the Chancellor, UNK Athletics and Campus Recreation.
