Fire call, (Central Nebraska Today)
KEARNEY — Recently, a fire occurred at one of The S.A.F.E. Center’s facilities. Everyone is safe, and emergency protocols were activated immediately to ensure their continued safety.
“We are deeply grateful to the bystanders who stepped in to help, as well as the Kearney Police Department, Kearney Volunteer Fire Department, and CHI Health Good Samaritan for their quick and compassionate response,” said Nikki Gausman, Executive Director of The S.A.F.E. Center.
The organization is working closely with authorities and insurance providers to assess the damage and determine the next steps. In the interim, displaced residents have been relocated to temporary housing and support services remain in place.
While some logistics may be impacted in the short term, The S.A.F.E. Center remains fully operational and available 24/7 to provide crisis intervention, shelter, and advocacy to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
“The safety and well-being of survivors remains our top priority,” Gausman added. “We are grateful for the continued support of our community during this time.”
Updates will be shared as more information becomes available, including any specific needs or opportunities to help. The S.A.F.E. Center’s mission continues, and your support makes that possible.
