HASTINGS — This year’s May the Fourth “Star Wars” celebration takes place 1-3 p.m.at Highland Park, on Sunday May 4.
Highland Park is just east of Hastings Museum near the intersection of 14th Street and Hastings Avenue.
Coordinated by Hastings Parks & Recreation Department and supported by the Hastings Public Library and Hastings Museum, this free event has it all.
Children of all ages can participate in our Jedi Academy, which includes Light Saber Training with fencing instructor Abdel Bruguera, a Jedi Skills Challenge from Hastings Parks & Recreation, a Blaster Station with the 501st Legion Organization and a Droid construction station with the Hastings Public Library.
200 attendees will receive a “Star Wars” goodie bag including a free comic book.
May the Fourth will also include local vendors, food trucks on-site.
There will be a trivia contest at 2 p.m. with prizes and cosplay contest at 2:45 p.m. with prizes.
