The tour of the building was guided by Y102 morning and afternoon host, Lisa Williams, who showed the students around the KGFW, Hits 106 and Y102 studios.
The students got to learn about how recording a show works, the different types of music played, the news and shows played on KGFW. They also learned about Central Nebraska Today.com as a new online news source for the Tri-Cities.
The students got a chance to be on the radio as Williams was recording her afternoon show and the two classes got to tell people that they were the “Central Elementary Cardinals.”
The students then moved on to other places in the downtown area, including the Kearney Public Library.
