BROKEN BOW — A 22-year-old Broken Bow man was killed as the result of an accident on Highway 2, west of Broken Bow, on Tuesday, May 13.
According to the Custer County Sheriff’s Office, a pickup driven by a 58-year-old Broken Bow man was northbound on Highway 2 when a car driven by a 22-year-old Broken Bow man attempted to make a left turn from Memorial Dr. onto Highway 2 in front of the pickup truck.
The pickup would strike the car’s driver’s door.
The 22-year-old was transported to Melham Medical Center, where he would be pronounced deceased. According to the sheriff’s office, he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
The 58-year-old driver was not injured.
The sheriff’s office and Nebraska State Patrol were assisted by Broken Bow Fire and Rescue, Hunters Towing and Trumbull Towing.
The names of those involved is being withheld, pending notification of the family.
