GRAND ISLAND – A former Grand Island firefighter has reached a plea agreement May 15, made in Hall County Court.
Jared Stockwell, 48, of Doniphan pleaded no contest to misdemeanor attempted child abuse for a July 1, 2024, case. In exchange, a District Court case was dismissed. In that case, Stockwell was charged with felony enticement by an electronic communication device and felony committing intentional child abuse with no injury, both for July 1, 2024, incidents.
Hall County Court Judge Arthur Wetzel found Stockwell guilty and fined him $250.
The prosecutor was Hall County Attorney Marty Klein. Stockwell’s attorney was Grady Erickson.
According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Department, during the investigation, it was determined that Stockwell was accused of sending indecent, lewd, lascivious, and obscene messages that were sexual in nature to a 13-year-old female.
