KEARNEY — The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) will host the 2025 Snowplow Roadeo in Kearney on May 22. The annual competition will take place at the Nebraska Safety Center where snowplow operators from across the state put their skills to the test.
Leading up to the event, local competitions were held in each of NDOT’s eight districts. From there, the top two teams from each district advanced to the state competition where they’ll compete for a chance to take on snowplow operators from across the country. The 2025 national competition, held in conjunction with the APWA Western Snow and Ice Conference, will be held from Sept. 24-26 in Loveland, Colo.
The annual roadeo gives snowplow drivers a chance to show how they stay safe on the job while working hard to keep everyone else safe on the roads during winter weather.
