Sunrise Middle School (Brian Neben, Central Nebraska Today)

KEARNEY — This award honors middle school students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. To qualify, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher during their 6th and 7th grade years, as well as the first semester of 8th grade. In addition, they must score at or above the 85th percentile in math or reading on the Spring NSCAS assessments.

Thirty-one eighth grade students met the criteria: Bronson Arnold, Sofieah Berkey, Mariah Bruntz, Olivia Cardenas, Braydon Carpenter, Emma Clark, Levi Coleman, Xander Cook, Nyemal Deng, Korbyn Glover, Caleb Hall, Aspen Hermance, Madalynn Hof, Ayla Hollman, Logan Kaval, Eleanor Larsen, Maxwell Leigh, Madison Lush, Shun Machida, Easton Mann, Adalyn Moody, Jack Morris, Emmi Pettit, Drake Ripp, Lincoln Schall, Isabell Schirmer, Maya Sutton, Braden Swartz, Chandler Townsend, Leo Turman, and Nam Vu

Outstanding Academic Achievement
This award recognizes students who have demonstrated unwavering commitment, discipline, and academic excellence throughout middle school. To be eligible, students must achieve a 4.0 GPA for every term of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.
