Kearney Landfill, (Brian Neben, Central Nebraska Today)
KEARNEY — City of Kearney’s Sanitation and Landfill Divisions announce that due to the upcoming Memorial Day Holiday on Monday, May 26, 2025, the following changes will be in effect for the refuse collection system and the Kearney Area Solid Waste Agency Landfill:
Residential Collection:
- Trash collection will be delayed one day, except Friday’s collection will remain on schedule.
- Yard waste collection will be delayed one day.
- Recycling collection will remain on schedule. However, there will be no recycling on May 29, 30 due to being the fifth Thursday and Friday of the month.
- Please have your container at the curb by 7:00 a.m. for collection.
Commercial Collection:
- Trash collection scheduled for Monday will be collected on Tuesday, May 27.
- Recycling collection scheduled for Friday will be collected on Saturday, May 31.
Closings:
- The Kearney Area Recycling Center will be closed on Monday, May 26.
- The Solid Waste Agency Landfill, including the Yard Waste and Tree Site, will be closed on Sunday May 25 and Monday, May 26.
