GRAND ISLAND — A 16-year-old male was arrested after he caused a chemical burn to the face of an 18-year-old female on Saturday, May 24.

According to the Grand Island Police Department, at 6:02 a.m., officers received a belated assault report that occurred at the apartments on N. Elm St.

An 18-year-old female reported that she was sprayed in the face with a large carbon dioxide canister. This caused a chemical burn to the left side of her face.

A 16-year-old male was arrested for second degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony. They were placed at the Lancaster County Juvenile Detention Center.
