
Interstate 80, (Brian Neben, Central Nebraska Today)
OVERTON — Weather permitting, work will begin June 2 on Interstate 80 (I-80) at reference posts 177.18, 231.13, and 248.56, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Watts Electric Company, of Waverly, is the contractor for this project. Work includes the replacement of high mast towers at the interchanges with trenching of new conduit and wire. Traffic will be maintained with lane closures. Anticipated completion is Sept. 2025.
The purpose of this project is to preserve the transportation asset, improve the reliability of the transportation system and perpetuate the mobility of the traveling public.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
