ARAPAHOE — An 18-year-old Cambridge native was killed as the result of an accident on Highway 6, west of Arapahoe, during the afternoon hours of Sunday, June 8.

Around 4 p.m., the Furnas County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol, Arapahoe and Cambridge EMS were dispatched due to the report of a two-vehicle accident on Highway 6.

A preliminary investigation noted that a Ford Ranger was westbound on the highway when it crossed the centerline and struck a eastbound Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.

The driver of the Ford was transported to Cambridge hospital, where they were later declared deceased. They were identified as James Wolf, 18 of Cambridge, per NSP.

The driver and an infant passenger of the Jeep were treated for minor injuries and released. An adult female passenger was flown to a Bryan Health West Campus in Lincoln with severe injuries, NSP stated.
