Gretna pitcher Alexis Jensen, who will join the Nebraska softball team for the 2026 season, was named Nebraska Gatorade Player of the Year for the second straight year.
Jensen led the Dragons to the 2024 Class A State Championship, pitching to a 20-0 record and an 0.29 ERA. She struck out 234 while walking just 10. She was also a force at the plate, hitting .549 with 10 home runs and 47 RBI.
She was a two-time captain of the Omaha World-Herald’s All-Nebraska team, joining Peaches James, Molly Hill, Ashley Hagemann and Jordy Bahl as the fifth Husker to earn captain honors twice. In her career, Jensen pitched to a 1.30 career ERA with 83 wins and 959 strikeouts, while hitting .445 with 28 home runs and 124 RBI.
Jensen will join the Huskers this fall and make her debut in the 2026 season.
