Kearney Volunteer Fire Department members work to clean up the accident scene at 25th St. and 5th Ave. on Monday, June 16, (Brian Neben, Central Nebraska Today)

KEARNEY — A two vehicle accident took place at the intersection of 25th St. and 5th Ave. in Kearney during the morning hours of Monday, June 16.

At 8:46 a.m., the Kearney Police Department and Kearney Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to the intersection for the report of a two-vehicle accident with potential injuries.

On scene, a gray minivan with slight front-end damage and a Kearney Public Schools utility vehicle with damage to its driver-side wheel area had come to a stop in the intersection and was blocking the left lane of 25th St.

A CHI Health Good Samaritan ambulance arrived on scene and EMS personnel checked on those involved in the accident.

Firefighters worked to clean up fluid that had been spilled as the result of the accident. The minivan was able to be driven and parked near the accident scene.

KPD officers provided traffic control on scene until the KPS vehicle could be moved.

There was no information about potential injuries at the scene.
