Hike/Bike trail construction in Lexington, (City of Lexington, Courtesy)
LEXINGTON — On Monday, June 23, trail work began along the north side of Plum Creek Park. Expect lane restrictions on eastbound W 13th Street while this work is being done.
There are four separate sections of trail in this project. Most are in and around the Optimist Recreation Complex and this construction should be hardly noticeable to most people, but we’ll start with this 1,200-foot stretch on W 13th Street between N Adams Street and Park Street. Some work may occasionally affect Adams and Park Streets near 13th Street. Weather permitting, this stretch should be completed around mid-July. Except for grass seed, which requires cooler termperatures, the major work for all four phases should be completed by August.
Thank you for your attention to safety in and around construction zones.
The project is made possible by a grant from Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.
