KEARNEY — The Kearney Veterans of Foreign Wars organized a “Patriot Parade” for the residents of the Central Nebraska Veterans Home during the morning of Wednesday, July 2.
The event started with a flyover by the CHI Health Good Samaritan AirCare helicopter, which continued flying around the area during the parade.
The parade was made up of a number of entities including law enforcement, represented by the Kearney Police Department, Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, Nebraska State Patrol and the University of Nebraska – Kearney Police; the City of Kearney, including Mayor Jonathan Nikkila and city council member Alex Alex Straatmann; Senator Stan Clouse and former Sentator John Lowe took part, as well public entities such as Nebraska Public Power District and many area citizens.
