Despite a three-hit performance from Kole Throckmorton and a furious comeback effort, Kearney Misko Sports 18U fell just short in an 8-7 loss to Lincoln Hotel Group Tuesday night at Memorial Field.
Throckmorton paced Kearney’s offense, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a single. He singled in the second, doubled in the fourth, and doubled again in the fifth to spark the Misko offense.

Kearney Misko responded with a gradual comeback, clawing back with a series of clutch at-bats, including RBI doubles, singles, and a sacrifice fly to eventually take a 7-6 lead in the bottom of the sixth. Talyn Lewis tied the game with an RBI single down the right field line, and Griffin Novacek gave Kearney the lead with a sacrifice lineout to center.
However, Lincoln Hotel Group answered in the top of the seventh. Jackson Minzel tied the game with a single to left, and Kameron Foster’s sacrifice bunt brought home the go-ahead run.
