KEARNEY — Beyond School Bells (BSB), a program of Nebraska Children and Families Foundation and the state’s network for afterschool and summer learning, is proud to launch the Michelle Arehart ELO Administrator Fellows Program.
The program honors the legacy of Michelle Arehart, longtime director of Kearney’s CLC program, who passed away in a tragic car accident in 2024.
Tamma Zulkoski has been selected for the inaugural cohort of this year-long fellowship, which brings together seven experienced extended learning opportunity (ELO) leaders from across Nebraska. Fellows will collaborate to share best practices, tackle common challenges, and develop innovative solutions to strengthen and expand ELO programs statewide.
Fellows will present their solutions and recommendations at the GetConnected Afterschool Conference in 2026 as well as pursue opportunities to share their expertise and insight at national conferences.
“Being selected to the first cohort of the Arehart ELO Administrator Fellows is an honor. I am beyond excited and honored to carry on Michelle’s love for afterschool programs and work collaboratively to address challenges and brainstorm ways to sustain and expand programs, and share the value of these programs for students, working parents, and our communities.”
The Michelle Arehart ELO Fellowship program will kick-off with an in-person program design session and then regular in-person learning sessions organized and hosted by each of the Fellows in their home communities, with a concluding event in Lincoln hosted by Beyond School Bells.
Nebraska Children and Families Foundation partners with communities to create a well-being system that strengthens families, supports unconnected young people, creates learning opportunities for Nebraska’s future workforce, and empowers parents to raise healthy children.
