KEARNEY — On Thursday, July 17, World War II veterans Gerald Baker and Jack Northrop will be presented with recognition medals by City Council Member Alex Straatmann at Brookestone Gardens in Kearney.
The ceremony is part of an initiative launched earlier this year by Governor Pillen and the Nebraska Department of Veterans’ Affairs to honor Nebraska’s living World War II veterans. Information on the program is available at https://veterans.nebraska.gov/ww2.
