HOLDREGE — Weather permitting, work will begin tomorrow, July 17, on U.S. Highway 183 (US-183), starting north of Holdrege and ending south of the Platte River in the counties of Phelps and Buffalo, from reference post 31.74 to reference post 47.07, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Vontz Paving, of Hastings, is the contractor for this project. Work includes asphalt milling and paving and permanent paint. Traffic will be maintained with a pilot car and flaggers. A 12-foot width restriction will be in effect. Anticipated completion is Sept. 2025.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and put phones down.
