FURNAS CO. — Four people were injured, with two of them sustaining “significant” injuries, in a one-vehicle rollover in Furnas County on Road 428, just north of Road 713.

Furnas County Sheriff’s Office stated that the Furnas County 911 Center received the initial report of the crash at 8:25 p.m. on Thursday, July 17.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2007 Chevrolet pickup was traveling south on Road 428 when the driver failed to negotiate a curve, resulting in the vehicle rolling.

The driver and three occupants were transported by Beaver City EMS with mutual aid from Arapahoe EMS. Beaver City Rescue also responded to the scene, however no extrication was required.

The full extent of injuries to the two passengers who received the more serious injuries, was not available.

The initial investigation indicates speed was a significant contributing factor in the crash. Alcohol may have also played a role in the crash. The use of seat belts is undetermined at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
