GRAND ISLAND — The Hall County Sheriff’s Office was awarded $9,900.00 through the NDOT Highway Safety Office for the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign.
Hall County Deputies will participate in this campaign from Aug. 16 to Sept. 1, 2025.
This campaign will help reduce impaired drivers and reduce accidents and fatalities.
According to latest NHTSA statistics during a previous Labor Day holiday, there were 490 crash fatalities nationwide.
Of these traffic crash fatalities, 39% (190) involved a drunk driver, and a quarter (25%) involved drivers who were driving with a BAC almost twice the legal limit (.15 + BAC). Among drivers between the ages of 18 and 34 who were killed in crashes over the Labor Day holiday in 2022, 47% of those drivers were drunk, with BACs of .08 or higher.
