KEARNEY — An aircraft that was due into the Kearney airport around 9 p.m. went missing during the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 27.
According to Lt. Derek Luke with the Kearney Police Department, around 9 p.m., an aircraft that was due to land at the Kearney Regional Airport was reported missing.
Luke said the Federal Aviation Administration reported that the plane went off radar north-northeast of Kearney. There was reported to be a pilot and passenger on the flight, both males, per Luke.
Kearney Police Department, the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol searched the area with drones until 2 a.m.
Luke said that teams were already out searching again on Thursday morning.
