LEXINGTON — The Orthman Community YMCA is hosting its ninth annual Transportation Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 27.
Over 30 trucks and vehicles will be on display at Jim Kelly Field, Lexington Airport, offering children the opportunity to climb aboard and explore. Featured vehicles include a combine, firetruck, ambulance, police car, race car, bucket truck, motorcycle, bus, tow truck and many more.
In addition to the vehicles, there will be pirate ship rides for all ages, a YMCA concession tralier, steak sandwich meals for $10, grilled cheese meals for $5 and a Tropical Sno tralier.
“This event is always a blast for kids of all ages,” Orthman YMCA Executive Director Riley Gruntorad said of the event. “It’s a chance for them to experience vehicles up close and let their imaginations run wild, pretending to operate machinery they might only see on the road.”
The event sponsors are Downey Drilling, Country Partners Cooperative, TL Sund Constructors, Complete Underground, Tyson Foods and Plum Creek Market Place.
The event will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Jim Kelly Field Lexington Airport. The cost is $5 per person for adults and children ages three and older.
