GRAND ISLAND — The 100th anniversary of the Barr vs. Walnut football game took place on Thursday, Oct. 16.
The games took place at Grand Island Senior High School’s Memorial Stadium. A tailgate party took place prior to the game Kickoff for the 7th grade game was at 5:30 p.m., and kickoff for the 8th grade game was at 6:30 p.m.
Principal Rod Foley said that the Barr-Walnut game is the longest-running rivalry in the state.
