Shelton outlasted Central Valley in a five-set battle against Central Valley (23-25, 25-21, 22-25, 27-25, 15-6) in the Opening round of the NSAA D1 Volleyball State Championships.
Jalyn Branson and Erin Gegg both had 26 kills for Shelton, while Macy Willis had 36 assists and Gracie Willis had 33 digs.
The Cougars were led by a 23 kill, 15 dig performance from Bentleigh Dugan, and Cayle Grossart had 10 kills and 13 digs for Central Valley. Annaka Wood had 38 assists and 21 digs.
Shelton will take on Overton tomorrow in the semifinals.
