LEXINGTON — On Nov. 25, at approximately 7:35 p.m., the Lexington Police Department responded to a pedestrian-vehicle accident at the intersection of 11th Street and Washington Street. A 12-year-old male juvenile and a 34-year-old female were struck while crossing the roadway. The vehicle involved fled the scene.

The juvenile was not injured. The adult female was transported to Lexington Regional Health Center for treatment and was later transferred to another medical facility due to the severity of her injuries.

During the course of the investigation, officers received a report of a stolen vehicle. It was determined that the stolen vehicle matched the description of the suspect vehicle involved in the pedestrian accident. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been taken from its owner just minutes before the incident by a known associate.

Several hours later, officers responded to a report of a vehicle on fire just outside the city limits.

Responding units quickly identified the burned vehicle as the one involved in both the theft and the pedestrian accident. A suspect located in the area of the fire was detained and subsequently taken into custody.

Alondra Solache, age 38, of Lexington, was arrested and charged with: Motor Vehicle Theft, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Failure to Render Aid, Driving Under Suspension (DUS), Driving Under the Influence (DUD) and Child Abuse.

This investigation remains ongoing. The Lexington Police Department was assisted by the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol.
