LEXINGTON — Beginning Jan. 1, 2026, the Lexington Volunteer Fire Department will transition all Burn Permit Applications to an online format. Permits will no longer be issued in person at City Hall.

Applicants will now complete and submit their Burn Permit using a Google Docs form, which can be emailed directly to the fire department for approval.

This change allows faster processing and ensures permits can be issued even when staff availability at City Hall is limited. The $10 processing fee will be eliminated with this change.
