HASTINGS — The City of Hastings Street Department will assist with traffic control during the week of Dec. 15, 2025 as Kinetic by Windstream moves a fiber line on the block of Elm Avenue between the BNSF Railway and South Street.
The traffic control plan includes placing cones around the work area, which involves pavement removal, communications line work, and pavement replacement in the west (southbound) lane.
A yield sign will be placed at the approach, so southbound drivers yield to oncoming traffic, but all motorists should proceed with caution.
The project is anticipated to begin Monday morning and continue through the week, but the exact schedule is subject to contractor availability and weather.
