LEXINGTON — Scattered power outages were already being reported in central Nebraska during the morning of Thursday, Dec. 18 as high winds with gusts up to 60 mph began to impact the region.
According to the Dawson Public Power District (DPPD) outage map, scattered outages were being reported along the Interstate 80 corridor.
One outage was affecting around 20 customers north of Gothenburg and Cozad, crews had been assigned at 9:18 a.m.
“We’re experiencing power outages in Dawson County due to sustained high winds. Crews have been dispatched,” per DPPD.
“Please be cautious when out today. If you see a power line on the ground, do not approach it or drive over it. Call 911 and the authorities will get in contact with the local power utility,” per DPPD.
