GRAND ISLAND – A 70-year-old Grand Island woman lost $5,950 in what Grand Island Police Division Chief Dean Elliott describes as a “romance scam.”
The woman provided Apple cards and fraudulent money orders, he said.
The incident occurred over a 45-day-period, he said.
The woman reported the incident by phone, according to a police report. Transactions for $1,950 and $4,000 were reported.
